Description
Hawaii State Law requires drivers under the age of 18 to complete a State Certified Driver’s Education Course. This course will include 30 hours of American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (ADTSEA) approved curriculum and 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel instruction.
Upon successful completion of 30 hours of curriculum, students will be awarded a certificate of completion. To receive a certificate of completion for Behind-the-Wheel (BTW), students must complete 6 hours BTW instruction as well as 50 additional hours (40 daytime hours and 10 nighttime hours) of supervised driving with a licensed driver above the age of 21. The 50 hour affidavit will need to be completed and NOTARIZED in order for the instructor to issue the BTW certificate.
The classroom instruction follows the ADTSEA Endorsement of the AAA How to Drive Curriculum, 15th Edition. Lesson plans and content are enhanced by visuals, videos, and worksheets. The course will conclude with a Final Exam encompassing all the chapters covered during class.
Behind-the-Wheel instruction covers all phases of driving including expressway and all forms of parking.
Cancellation Policy for Kekus Driving Academy
Due to limited seating, we request that you cancel at least 30 days before your scheduled class. This gives us the opportunity to fill the class. You must cancel online. Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations within 14-29 days, you will incur a 50% fee. Please understand that you are holding a spot so cancellations made up to 13 days prior to the scheduled start of class will be non-refundable.
You may request to reschedule to attend a future class in lieu of a refund. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, however, the owner has the only right to be flexible here. When you register for class, you agree to these terms.
BEHIND-THE-WHEEL POLICY
Please understand that you are holding a spot so cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled lesson will be non-refundable. Cancellations made within 24-48 hours, will incur a 50% fee. When you register for lessons, you agree to these terms.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance and participation are MANDATORY. Student are required to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction. Unexcused absences or habitual tardiness may result in expulsion from the program (no retakes or refunds will be offered to an expelled student). Students who are more than 10 minutes late will be considered absent. Make-up classes will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and may result in make-up during a future session.
